I know, I know today is your lucky day!
So my dear friend Samantha told me about an awesome link up going on over at Desirae's blog.
And so I decided I should totally join in.
So most friday's I am going to post on what exercise I have done in the week. Now Sometimes I might have a recipe I want to feature or maybe a meal I want to talk about or a specific exercise or fitness related topic.
Who knows...actually there has been one topic that has been rolling around in my mind so if you are LUCKY you might get to see that next friday! Woot! Ok...so here today I would like to talk about WHY I do not weigh in on my blog....
Actually I do NOT weigh in once a week either.
I weigh in EVERY SINGLE DAY on my calendar.
TO be real with you I sorta slacked two or three days or maybe four in the holidays, BUT I have been consistant since like April of last year and REALLY started dedicating myself in July of 2012.
Ok so I have been through weight watchers three times, I have tried numerous other diets as well. Nothing ever stuck. I gained everything I lost back.
Well I realized that what I was doing, was CREATING a plan around what OTHER people DO. Just because it works for a ton of people doesnt always mean it will work for ME.
I admire people and get inspired so easily I am always the first one to jump on a diet bandwagon.
However this time I realized that I was going to have to do what worked for me.
-It had to be free.
-It had to be easy.
-It had to be something I could maintain doing forever.
-It had to have rewards.
SO, I narrowed it down to doing Myfitnesspal tracker, going to kickboxing class, beginning running (because I am a cardio queen and I loves it!) and weighing in EVERY SINGLE DAY.
-It also started out in the beginning with a cheat meal at my fave mexican restaurant & a cupcake. Thus the title of this blog. Yes people I started loosing weight by eating cupcakes.
You have probably already seen this but this is my setup. Back of bathroom door, scale beside me, calendar in front of me and a pen.
I get nakey.
I weigh myself.
Sorry if that is too much TMI.
I never said anything about sugarcoating this for yall!!
Anyways, the reason I do this is so every day I can see a difference.
I see how sodium effects me.
Working out, water in take, chinese.
I see it all-every day and every day I STRIVE so that the next day I can see a better number and write down my LOWEST number.
Then sometimes I get real excited and underline numbers and put smilies next to them when I am so happy and thrilled with a number that I could actually cry tears of JOY!
I have totally cried on the scale.
So sometimes my dears, you just have to figure out what works for you and RUN with it.
